(CMR) The Cayman Islands Coast Guard (CICG) rescued seven people who were adrift on a raft about 20 Nautical Miles Northeast of Grand Cayman on Tuesday, 14 November.
At about 9:20 p.m., the Cayman Islands Coast Guard's Operations Rescue Coordination Centre (ORCC) was notified of the raft with the seven individuals. The CICG deployed one of its patrol vessels, which successfully located the raft, and retrieved all seven individuals. They were brought to CICG Base, where they were handed over to Customs and Border Control.
The CICG, in a social media post, expressed thanks to the United States Coast Guard D7 Rescue Coordination Center and MV NFE Explorer for the assistance rendered in this rescue.
