UPDATE: Shania Beckford (15), who was reported missing on Saturday, 29 July, has been located and returned home safely.  Police said she appeared to be in good health. The RCIPS thanks the public for their assistance in locating her.

(CMR) As police seek help to locate 15-year-old Shania Beckford, who was reported missing on Saturday, 29 July, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS)  is warning the public that it is an offense to harbor a minor.

The RCIPS said anyone who harbors or conceals a young person is guilty of an offense and is liable, on conviction, to being fined $2000 and to imprisonment for three months.

Shania, who has been reported missing several times, at least three times earlier this year, was last seen on the evening of Thursday, 27 July, when she left home but has not returned since.

She was wearing a grey tank top and grey sweatpants. She is described as being about 4’9” tall, of medium build and brown complexion, with dyed blonde hair.

Anyone with information on Shania's whereabouts is encouraged to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or the M.A.S.H Unit at 649-6000.

Officers are encouraging Shania to return to her address or attend the nearest police station immediately.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via their Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or via their website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Cayman Crime Stoppers website.
