(CMR) Jon Bodden (37) was reportedly arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly being involved in an early morning shooting at a residence in the vicinity of Watering Place, Cayman Brac.
Reports from the police are that at about 6:50 am, officers responded to a report of a potential firearm incident at an address in the vicinity of Watering Place, Cayman Brac. It was reported that the occupant of the residence heard a loud bang followed by one of the windows of the residence breaking.
CMR sources said a shot fired through the window hit a bedhead, terrifying occupants of the house. It is believed the shot was intentionally fired into the house as the accused man had been telling others an occupant of the house “informed on him.”
The RCIPS said officers attended and observed a projectile inside the residence, which is suspected to have been fired into the window. The projectile is not a conventional firearm bullet, casing, or marine flare. It has been recovered to be forensically processed as investigations continue. No one was injured during the incident.
However, CMR exclusive sources indicated that one person who lived at the house was reportedly admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure, possibly out of shock due to the incident.
The matter is currently under investigation, and specialist officers from Grand Cayman are traveling to Cayman Brac to assist. Anyone who may have any information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-0331.
