(CMR) The number of migrants in the Cayman Islands continues to increase as more migrants are arriving on island. Between Monday, 28 November, and Tuesday 29 November 18 migrants arrived.
The Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) confirmed that on Monday, 28 November, a vessel with ten (10) migrants, four (4) females and six (6) males, arrived in East End at approximately 1:30 am.
On Tuesday, 29 November a vessel with eight (8) migrants, five (5) males and three (3) females arrived in Cayman Brac at approximately 9:30 pm.
They have disembarked and are being processed in accordance with established CBC protocols.
Several groups of migrants arrived in Cayman during November with as many as 17 arriving on one occasion. The Government has spent over $1.2 million so far this year to address the needs of migrants.
