(CMR) Cayman Airways has taken disciplinary action three in-flight crew members who were involved in a recent COVID-19 protocol breach with actor Ron Pearlman aboard an incoming flight from Miami in March.
One employee has been fired after being with the organization for 18 years. Her superior on the flight has been demoted to a junior flight attendant and we are awaiting word on the faith of the third flight attendant involved.
It was revealed on March 21 that several employees had breached protocol by taking photos with the Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy actor that was coming to Cayman to work on a film project. The crew were then placed in quaranatine as a result of the breach.
Speculation is the board pressured them to take action to send a clear message and prevent any future breaches.
It is understood that they removed their masks and took photos with him which were then widely circulated.
Currently CAL staff are not permitted to have any direct contact with passengers on international inbound flights. There is also no in flight service as the country remains closed with limited travel permitted for pre-approved persons.
