(CMR) A female pedestrian (64) has been the victim of a hit and run incident on West Bay Road in the vicinity of Galleria Plaza around 8:30 pm this evening.
CMR sources indicate that she is visiting from Atlanta with her husband when she was mowed down halfway through the pedestrian crosswalk.
One observer noted that:
“in the midst of this all there was a young Caymanian guy there who assisted her and honestly he deserves to go to school for minimum paramedics, he honestly made me proud to be a Caymanian. The way he took care of this lady, explained details to the paramedics and a doctor that was present was exceptional. By his appearance society would judge him and dismiss him, but I must commend him for his genuine care and knowledge in such a scenario.”
Apparently, even the doctor that was present observed he should be in medical school.
From eyewitness accounts, she appears to be conscious. Paramedics were not yet on the scene but members of the public were assisting her until their arrival. The vehicle involved is described as a small white car.
This is a developing story and will be updated once more information is available.
