(CMR) Police have now confirmed that a 44-year-old man of West Bay has been arrested in relation to the violent murder of 24-year-old Shaquille DeMario Bush Wednesday evening on Daisy Lane. CMR sources indicate the arrested man is his own father, Deward Bush.
CMR initially reported last evening on our social media platforms that he was in custody. The police investigations continue and police are requesting any eyewitnesses to come forward.
Both father and son have had numerous run-ins with the law and police believe gang connections. The father lived in the UK for a number of years and is known to have a criminal history. The younger Bush had spent some time in jail as well in 2014 for assaulting and blinding a senior citizen. He was also a suspect in the murder of Solomon (Solly) Webster but was acquitted of that charge. He was a father of a young daughter with another child on the way.
His father was also acquitted in 2011 of the gang-related killing of Alric Peddie.

After serving time in jail it appears that Shaquille wanted to turn his life around. He shared the following post on his social media platform:

Anyone with information regarding the shooting of Shaquille Bush is asked to contact Detective Inspector Collins Oremule at 936-8746.
