(CMR) Cayman Marl Road is now able to confirm that early reports of a drowning yesterday evening were accurate.
Shortly after 3:30 pm yesterday Police and other Emergency Services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a Report of a possible Drowning incident at a Resort along the Seven Mile Beach corridor.
CMR exclusive sources notified us late yesterday evening that a male swimmer was seen in the water. The 77-year-old American visitor was observed floating in the water close to the Kimpton SeaFire Resort. CMR sources further indicate that he was brought to shore by a passing boat. However, after significant on-site resuscitation efforts he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
