NOTE: The contents of this story and video are considered graphic and for a mature audience ONLY! If you are easily offended we would suggest you not watch the video. (CMR) Women are being warned about a sexual predator on the loose who was the capture of a video exposing himself last night and following his latest victim.
The video started making the rounds earlier today and CMR received it multiple times. Apparently we understand that man is known to have engaged in this sort of behavior previously. The matter has been reported to the police and whilst not yet arrested we understand the man's name is Leandro Solomon.
He followed a new resident for some distance to her home in George Town whilst exposing himself and masturbating. In a last-ditch effort to get him to stop the victim started yelling at him and recording the final portion of his acts before taking off. It appears that she wanted recorded evidence of who he is in case something should happen to her.
At one point she appears to have zoomed in on the perpetrator and he continues to approach her.
There is also a second video of her banging on the door of a random house attempting to get some assistance.
We understand the victim was so shaken by the incident that she may now leave the island after the only haven just arrived in Cayman a short time ago. We post the video on Facebook and were shocked at the number of people questioning its authenticity. A member of the public had previously combined that video with another one of him ranting and raving about another incident. The victim was in no one involved in any altering of the video.
She has sent the following message to Cayman Marl Road:
“Hi! Thank you for your concern regarding what happened to me last night. I appreciate what you’re trying to do by posting the video, however it seems like it has the opposite effect of what was intended. I am asking you, as the victim, please PLEASE do not post the video online at this time.
Please let the police handle it and please let them first confirm who the perpetrator is. I agree that people should be aware of this disgusting human being… he is vile and his actions are inexcusable.
“We want the world to be fair: the good will be rewarded, the evil punished. As a result, we blame the victims of misfortune”
CMR wishes to make it clear that anyone asking why the victim decided to fight instead of run is a form of victim-blaming. Another person asked if they should really be called a victim since they got away. We are shocked and appalled at this. Many victims getaway but remain scarred for life. What are the people of Cayman really saying? Because he did not hold her down and get to rape her she was not victimized or traumatized by this? 😒🤬 What if this was your child, your mother that this had happened to?
We stand behind ALL victims!
She exhausted the flight aspect of the fight or flight options available to her. It was having no impact on him so apparently, in a last-minute attempt, she tried fighting him off – yelling, screaming and even recording him. Because of this that does not mean she was not scared or traumatized!
She also recorded it in case something were to happen to her there would be some evidence of the incident.
People will often reply – I'm just asking a question it doesn't mean I'm blaming the victim. Please read this to understand why that IS a form of victim-blaming:
Why do people blame the victim?
Why we're psychologically hardwired to blame the victim
