(CMR) A male pedestrian was killed earlier this evening when he was struck by a motorbike riding in the vicinity of Powell Smith Rd. He was found to be unconscious and not breathing with obvious injuries to his arms and legs.

Reports are that shortly after 7:20 p.m. officers responded to a report of a collision at the location in West Bay. EMS and police are on the scene and he was transported to George Town Hospital by the emergency medical services. He was pronounced dead.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries and was also transported to the hospital for treatment.

The matter is under investigation and traffic officers remain on the scene. Powell Smith Drive will remain closed to traffic until further notice as investigations continue.

The RCIPS is asking the public to restrict travel on the roadways as much as possible.
