(CMR) A George Town man arrested during a police operation at a bar on Shedden Road in March, has pleaded guilty to two charges in relation to the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Patrick Williams (26) pleaded guilty when he appeared before the Grand Court via video link last Friday, 13 May.

Williams and eight other people were arrested in a joint operation between RCIPS & CBC conducted at a bar and other establishments near the junction of Shedden Road and Eastern Avenue on Friday, 18 March.

Police reported that Williams attempted to evade the officers at the location during the operation and was detained and searched. During the search, a loaded handgun was found in his possession.

He has been remanded into custody to be sentenced on 29 July.
