(CMR) Police are now investigating a burglary during which a firearm was stolen from a residence on North Side Road.
Police said shortly after 1:40 pm Tuesday, 5 July, officers responded to a report of a burglary at the address on North Side Road. It was reported that someone had broken into a residence and stolen a brown and black Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun belonging to a licensed firearm owner. The burglary took place sometime between 7:30 pm on Monday, 4 July, and 1:30 pm on Tuesday, 5 July.
“The theft of a firearm in this manner is extremely concerning, as it can potentially be used in illegal activity and presents an additional danger to the public,” said Superintendent Peter Lansdown.
“We strongly appeal for anyone who may have knowledge of this weapon being sold or stored by anyone to come forward and provide information immediately,” he added.
