(CMR) Former CONCACAF president 53-year-old Jeff Webb has had his sentencing postponed for the sixth time, until March 7.
A US judge on Wednesday delayed the January 24th sentencing of disgraced FIFA former vice president Jeffrey Webb in the sweeping corruption scandal.
The Brooklyn Federal court in New York has released a new schedule of sentencing for 12 of the football executives indicted in the FIFA-gate case and who are currently on parole in the US
Webb is the highest profile of those to be sentenced, having pleaded guilty on 23 November 2015, having been arrested in dawn raids on the Baur au Lac hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, in May 2015. He has pleaded guilty to seven counts of bribery, conspiracy and money-laundering.
The former FIFA Vice President is believed to be one of the main players in years of fraud committed in the name of football’s governing body over the course of years.
While Webb’s lawyers have been the ones successfully pushing back dates, this time around, the court’s calendar is alleged to have changed, meaning the sentencing will not take place on January 24.
Late last year, Webb sold his Georgia mansion, giving the proceeds of the sale to the US court as part of an asset forfeiture agreement. He also faces the possibility of deportation to Cayman, where there are other charges pending in the Care Pay matter with former partner, Canover Watson.
