(CMR) The Board of the Health Services Authority (HSA) has approved a one-time honorarium of CI$1,500 for each member of staff in appreciation for their hard work and efforts that led to the hospital receiving the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation in May 2023.
In a memorandum to staff members, Chief Excexutive Officer said the gift will be paid along with their December salary.
The Health Services Authority (HSA) earned the most prestigious hospital accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the Gold Seal of Approval, which is recognized by the international healthcare community as a symbol of quality that reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and high-quality patient care.
To obtain accreditation, the HSA underwent a rigorous onsite review of its facilities both in Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands from 1 May 2023 to 10 May 2023. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission surveyors evaluated compliance with global hospital standards spanning several areas, including emergency management, the environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and the rights and responsibilities of the patient. They also conducted onsite observations and staff interviews.
HSA staff joins civil servants and employees of some Statutory Authorities and Government Companies who will receive $1,500 this month.
