(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) have announced this afternoon that they are looking for two men of interest to assist them in their ongoing investigation in the attempted abduction of a young West Bay child on 10 March.
As previously reported the RCIPS were extremely concerned about recent events involving children and possible predators and formed a special investigative unit to deal with the ongoing investigation.
Their investigations have led them to believe that the child may have encountered several persons earlier in the day and are looking for two men as investigations into a reported incident of attempted child abduction on March 10 continue.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) said that detectives now have reason to believe that the child in the matter came into contact with several persons who were out and about in West Bay on the day the incident took place.
Given this new detail, police are asking that these persons come forward and assist in the investigations.
Detectives are looking for a man that was operating a car wash at the pond that is located near Batabano Drive, and another man that was walking past the Lake Shore Condos on Bonneville Drive, wearing a green shirt, white shorts and socks with slippers. Both men would have come in contact with her earlier in the day.
The child is a white female under the age of 10 years old with blonde hair, and on Saturday, March 10, between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she was wearing a white sleeveless top and dark-colored shorts with slippers.
Anyone who saw this child and made contact with her on Saturday 10 March is asked to contact the West Bay Police Station detectives DC Shane Ennis at 926-4588 or DC Teddy Mitchell at 936-1297.
