(CMR) Raulito Gonzalez (42) and his female companion (41) have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission on suspicion of corruption offences in an unidentified probe yesterday. Gonzalez has worked for the Port Authority for about 20-years.
CMR sources indicate that the couples home in Newlands was raided and a number of items removed from the home. They have been arrested on suspicion of fraud on the government, breach of trust and conflict of interest, all contrary to the Anti-Corruption Law.
They have since been released on bail pending further inquiries. CMR sources understand the matter may involve tires taken from port trucks and some sweeper contract at the port that a relative may have been involved in.
Gonzalez is also a special constable with the RCIPS.
This is a developing story and will be updated once more information is available.
