(CMR) Frank McField has been sued for defamation by CMR content manager and talk show host, Sandra Hill. The legal proceedings came swiftly after McField posted a tirade-filled Facebook post about Hill with “at least 25 false and defamatory allegations” on Monday evening.
According to Hill, the post and around 100 plus comments, mostly from McField himself, are said to contain a substantial amount of false statements covering a wide range of unfounded alllegations.
Hill shared that after months of unacceptable comments he had finally crossed the line “in a spectacular fashion” and a legal response was the only appropriate way to handle the situation.
His post was in response to McField being banned from CMR's Facebook page after months of haggling Hill and the CMR platform.
Prior to the May general election, McField was a frequent guest on Hill's podcast show and often sang her praises sharing she had accomplished something that others had not.
However, McField's demeanor appears to have soured after he was unsuccessful, yet again, in securing a seat for public office. He contested a seat in first in Prospect and then changed to George Town East after several months.
Sharing with CMR the apparent reasoning for McField's allegedly defamatory comments Hill noted that he has taken aim at the PACT government and anyone he perceives as a possible alley.
Observing in fact he was upset during pre-election commentary when Hill suggested that he should not run in Prospect Hill shared:
“For months now he has been taking these unwarranted jabs directly at me that I have largely ignored. He approached me about writing a story about his lawsuit against a former landlord at the Strand. When we refused he claimed he was going to a competitor and we invited him to do so.”
There were other instances of his behavior starting to go off the rails but it has gotten progressively more aggressive since May. He has also made comments about Hill's apparent professional success and displeasure about that.
For her part, Hill said that this time the line was crossed and she was saddened that he decided to “fabricate a long list of things about her.” Adding that some of the allegations he made defy logic but are still incredibly damaging.
McField was served shortly after 7:00 am Wednesday morning at Smith Cove as he went for his usual morning swim. Eyewitnesses shared that he appeared to be surprised at receiving the documents.
