(CMR)Twenty-five people were reportedly murdered in Jamaica between Friday, January 15, and Sunday, January 17.
The killings include two triple murders and a double murder. Jamaica's Attorney General Marlene Malahoo Forte, in a Gleaner report, said,
“The country has been calling on the State to act, and the State will act. The level of brazenness and utter disregard for lives and public order cannot be accepted.”
Among those killed were Ellia Pascoe (52) and her 32-year-old daughter Notoya Pascoe who were shot and killed in their home in Olympic Gardens at about 11 am on Sunday.
Three men were shot and killed during a drive-by shooting in Allman Town, St Andrew, Sunday night. Two others were injured during the attack. Dead are Raheim Brown (21), Konee Foster (20), and Marvin Livingston (20).
Reports are that the men were standing at the roadside about 7:15 pm when a motor vehicle with armed men drove up.
Three people were also killed in separate incidents in Norwood, St James, over the weekend. Donovan Reid (47), of Norwood; Nicardo Daley (20) of Montego Hills, and Aubrey Brown (50) of Irie Lane, Norwood, were shot and killed in two different sections of the community.
There was also a triple murder in St James on Sunday evening after seven people were shot at a football game. Three of the seven were pronounced dead at a hospital.
