(CMR) With an aim to educate the community more this year, the Cayman Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Foundation will be launching its sexual health lectures soon.
Noel Cayasso-Smith, the foundation's president and founder, said the organization would also be working with the community to help secure a better understanding of the meaning of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer. In his New Year's Message, Cayasso-Smith said,
“As a community-based organization, we believe in building bridges and mending fences in the community. “
He said the CLGBTQ Foundation will continue to assist with counseling, health care, legal advice, life coaching, and other well-needed services.
Cayasso-Smith said the Foundation has vetted and partnered with several organizations and will be reaching out to many others in the future.
He said community members do not have to be LGBTQ to reach out for assistance from the foundation. He explained:
“We are here to answer any questions you may have pertaining Civil partnership bill, dealing with understanding LGBTQ family members, how to deal with any child coming out to a parent, how to report abuse to the Police department.”
