(CMR) Numbers coming out of Trinidad and Tobago's Ministry of Health on Saturday (August 22) revealed that the country has over 700 active COVID-19 cases.
In the ministry's latest update it reported 31 new cases in addition to one new death from the virus.
The ministry revealed that close to 200 COVID-19 patients are in hospital, while another 283 are in transition facilities.
Earlier this week local media in Trinidad reported that the country's Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley had been place in isolation after it was revealed that he came into contact with a COVID-19 positive person on election night.
However, Rowley has since tested negative for the disease.
Trinidad's active COVID-19 cases exceeds that of Jamaica which to date is reporting just under 500 active cases.
To date, Trinidad's COVID-19 tally stand at 899 with the country having recorded 13 deaths.
