(CMR) Cayman Marl Road is celebrating a major milestone, surpassing 100,000 followers on Facebook. CMR is the first local media house and business to accomplish this milestone.
“When we first started out back in 2017, we were doing pretty good. We were making pretty good strides, but I never really thought we would get 100,000 followers on one platform alone. That's crazy,” Sandra Hill told listeners on the Cold Hard Truth on Tuesday, 30 January.
Hill said that even if there are fake accounts among the followers, a large audience is being reached, the majority in Cayman.
“I want to thank everyone who follows,” Hill said, noting that there are followers from all over the world.
She also noted that in the past, the majority of followers were female, but now there are more males, with 49.6 percent men and 50.6 percent women.
“When we first got started, the first couple years, the platform was primarily followed by women. It's pretty interesting to see that the numbers have almost even out,” Hill said.
CMR also has a presence on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok. There is also the CMR Community page on Facebook that deals with things such as lost and Found.
