LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Dear CMR,
I hope this message finds you well.
I wanted to take a moment to express my frustration regarding the recent complaints I've seen circulating under your previous post and in the Women of Cayman group about CUC's service during power outages.
As the wife of someone who works tirelessly for CUC, I feel compelled to address the lack of perspective displayed by some individuals. It's disheartening to see people complain about temporary power outages when we are fortunate to have the best power grids in the Caribbean.
The response time of CUC is commendable, especially compared to other countries that have to go DAYS or even WEEKS without power.
Furthermore, it's important to acknowledge that, MOST LIKELY, it was equipment failure following the NorWester that caused the recent power outage. While some may nitpick about the timing of the failure, they fail to appreciate the fact that it didn't occur during the storm itself, which would have resulted in even longer disruptions.
We must remember that behind CUC's operations are dedicated human beings, NOT ROBOTS, who work tirelessly, often sacrificing sleep and important family time to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
Their commitment deserves gratitude, not ungrateful complaints.
Next time individuals are quick to criticize, I urge them to consider the challenges faced by those working at CUC and reflect on whether they could handle the job themselves.
Signed,
An Annoyed Wife
