(CMR) Chris Duggan, the Cayman Islands representative to the US and Canada, is leaving the post at the end of February after submitting his resignation in December.
Duggan, in a recent interview, confirmed his resignation from the Washington, DC-based office, stating that it was a personal decision after a time-sensitive opportunity came up.
Duggan, a Special Constabulary Commandant who served for 22 years as a member of the RCIPS Special Constabulary, resigned in 2021 to take up the role in Washington.
Government is now expected to recruit a new representative for that office. Other offices have also seen changes recently.
Julie Campbell was recently appointed the government’s overseas representative for the EU, based in the London office. She took over from Deborah Bodden, who passed away last year.
Former MP Winston Connolly was also recently appointed chairman of the board of directors for Cayman’s Asia office, which is led by Gene DaCosta.
