(CMR) The RCIPS said officers responded to 5 reports of burglaries of commercial premises in and around the waterfront and central George Town areas between Sunday, 28 January, and Monday, 29 January. In each of the incidents, a glass door or window was broken in order to gain entry.
Following inquiries, on Sunday, 28 January, officers arrested a 27-year-old man from George Town on suspicion of burglary in relation to one of the incidents that had been reported earlier that day at a store on Hospital Road. The man is also believed to be connected to a number of the other recent commercial burglaries.
He remains in custody as investigations continue.
