(CMR) Two females, one of whom was reportedly in distress and another who was reported missing, are now safe, the police have said.
The RCIPS said at around 1:45 a.m., Saturday, 30 December, police and other emergency services responded to a report of a person in distress and a missing person in the vicinity of Jasmine Blossom Way, George Town.
Police immediately conducted a search of the location and surrounding area for the missing woman, with the assistance of Air Operations, K9, and other officers, as well as family members of the missing woman.
The person in distress had received minor injuries and was taken to George Town Hospital by ambulance for treatment. She has since been released.
The search for the missing woman continued into the daylight hours. At around 7:45 a,m, the woman was located safely and is now with family members. She appears to be in good health.
Reports of gunshots at the time of the incident were unsubstantiated, and appear to have been fireworks in the area.
Police inquiries continue into the incident.
