(CMR) The RCIPS said over the holiday weekend, between Friday, 22 December and Tuesday, 26 December, police received nine reports of commercial burglaries, all of which occurred at restaurants/bars.
Two culprits, a 30-year-old man of George Town and a 41-year-old woman of West Bay, have been arrested in relation to four of the nine burglaries and appeared before the court yesterday, Wednesday, 27 December, and have been remanded to HMP.
Investigations into the outstanding burglaries continue. Police encourage anyone with any information related to these incidents to contact their local police station or 911. Anonymous tips can be made via the RCIPS website.
Police remind commercial premises to be especially vigilant with securing their premises over the festive season and leading into New Year celebrations this coming weekend. Always ensure windows and doors are locked at the end of the night, that money is removed, and that items of value, such as electronics (laptops/phones), are secured.
Also, ensure CCTV cameras are operational and angled correctly to cover key areas of the premises.
