(CMR) Anderson University (AU) Vice President for Finance Sauhil Housholder who left the Cayman Islands as a teen to study overseas was recently named to Women We Admire’s Top 50 Women Leaders in Education list.
According to an article posted by AU, Housholder’s professional background and career track record were evaluated, resulting in her placement among the top women executives and leaders.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to have been recognized as one of The Top 50 Women Leaders in Education of 2023 by Women We Admire. This award holds special significance as it not only celebrates the accomplishments of women in the field of education but also underscores the progress that women have made in leadership roles in the academic world,” said Housholder.
This award highlights the accomplishments of women at the helm of diverse educational institutions nationwide. Nominees come from a broad spectrum of organizations, from small liberal arts colleges to the nation’s largest public universities, including Ivy League institutions and beyond.
Housholder, who has also served as AU’s assistant vice president for finance and assistant treasurer, holds two degrees from Anderson University (Bachelor of Arts in accounting and Master of Business Administration) and is pursuing a Doctor of Education at Ball State University.
“I believe that diversity in educational leadership is crucial for fostering adaptability and meeting the evolving needs of our society,” said Housholder.
“I am committed to continuing my service to Anderson University and the broader field of higher education, striving to further the mission of our institution and support the growth and development of future generations,” she added.
The former Miss Teen Cayman Islands began her AU employment as a student worker and, after seven years in the private sector post-graduation, returned to Anderson University as a budget accountant.
Before being hired as controller and assistant treasurer, Housholder served as chief accountant in the business office and business manager in business and auxiliary services under the supervision of the vice president for finance.
