(CMR) Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) is advising the public of two key updates for customers using their Work Permit Application Service.
Firstly, customers are reminded to take special care when completing application forms to ensure that their email address is entered correctly. Previously, the work permit system known as IMSS generated letters using historically stored information, however, in an effort to streamline the process and ensure accuracy, all correspondence going forward will be sent out via the information provided on the most up-to-date application.
The public is, therefore, requested to ensure that the information on the application is indeed correct prior to submission.
Additionally, the department is increasing its efforts to reduce paper and become more environmentally friendly. Effective Monday, 4 September 2023, all Temporary Work Permit documents will be scanned and returned to the customer while they wait. Once scanned, the customer can then proceed to the Customer Care Agent, where they can make payment and obtain a receipt.
This new procedure will be piloted in the Grand Cayman office and only with Temporary Work Permits, as they are the most frequently submitted type of application. Once the trial period is completed and is successful, the service will encompass scanning all other types of applications. Further information will be provided to the public with regard to expanding this service to other applications.
Customers can contact Customer Care with queries or questions via email to [email protected] or the Call Center at 945-9672 or toll-free at 1-(800)-534-9672.
