(CMR) Judith Douglas, who was charged with 36 counts of obtaining property by deception in relation to a rent scam, pleaded guilty to 32 counts, including partial pleas, in the Grand Court on Friday, 25 August.
In the partial guilty pleas, she admitted guilt but disputed the amounts. Douglas pleaded not guilty to four counts. The court heard that for those counts, the monies have been repaid, or the complainants do not wish to pursue.
Douglas was arrested in March after CMR posted about her numerous schemes. She has been accused of taking deposits from persons interested in renting property located at 55 Diaz Lane without actually following through.
Justice Cheryll Richards ordered a psychological report and a Social Inquiry Report for Douglas, who is expected to be sentenced on 20 October. Douglas was remanded in custody until then.
