(CMR) Miracle Brokers International is advising clients that the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced a temporary data freeze period for the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) and the Trade Compliance (TC) program Portals.
This freeze will take place from September 16 to 30, during which trade users will not have access to the Portals. The CBP said this is necessary to transition to the Next Generation Portals (3.0) and ensure data consistency between the old (2.0) and new systems.
CBP acknowledges that some deadlines, such as security profiles and Annual Notification Letters (ANLs), may be missed due to this freeze. To address this, CBP will grant a 30-day extension for trade partners with due dates in September or October. It's advised that trade partners review their CTPAT and TC Portal accounts, including user access, before the September 16 data freeze.
CBP has observed email failures during notifications, often caused by inactive partner company emails still listed as active users. New links to the CTPAT and TC Portals, associated with the 3.0 version, will be sent to active users via email and posted on the CBP website. Additional information will be provided closer to the data freeze window date.
