(CMR) Canadian resident and Russian citizen Anton Parygin (45), who is facing multiple charges for the illegal importation of three firearms and ammunition, will stand trial on 14 September after pleading not guilty on Friday.
Parygin, who is on bail, pleaded not guilty to all six charges brought against him. Parygin was arrested after he reportedly arrived on Air Canada at the Owen Roberts International Airport with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and a semiautomatic rifle with a 16-inch barrel. His bail was extended in the matter.
Parygin is originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan/Khabarovsk, Russia but resides in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. His online profile shares that he's a co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of a software development company called PressCentric.
