(CMR) Cody Parchman (22) of Cayman Brac, who was put before the court on 21 charges, including drugs, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for some of the offenses. He was also given a 24-month suspended sentence for some of the offenses to begin following his release.
Parchman was sentenced after he was arrested, charged, and put before the court for 21 charges, most of which related to drug possession, drug supply, and even assaults on police officers. These offenses spanned a period of two years.

Chief Inspector Malcolm Kay, Sister Islands Area Commander, stated, “This is an excellent result for Cayman Brac. We hope that it will serve as an example to other young people in the community as they see the consequences of illegal activities and the impact it has on their liberties and life long-term.”
“It is my hope that they may choose a better path than the one taken by this young man and that other frequent offenders will see this result and choose not to commit further crimes,” he added.
Parchman, who was previously arrested in relation to the killing of a Sri Lankan national at Bananas Lounge, was sentenced on 29 June.
The use of drugs in Cayman Brac has been a major concern, with police implementing strategies to reduce its prevalence in the community.
