(CMR) The police said initial investigations into the house explosion that occurred on Bayfield Crescent on Monday, 5 June, indicate that the incident does not appear to be due to suspicious circumstances.
Police, Fire, emergency services, and other partner agencies remain on the scene of the house explosion, and an established police cordon currently remains in place.
However, the cordoned area was expected to be reduced as the National Roads Authority was working to clear the road of debris on Thursday. The road was expected to be re-opened by the end of Thursday. Once the road is cleared, the police cordon will be reduced to the immediate vicinity of the property where the incident occurred.
As this work takes place and the investigation continues, the public is being reminded to avoid the area and to remain outside of the police cordon.
One man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
