(CMR) Police are investigating yet another armed robbery after two masked men robbed the Digicel store on North Church Street Friday evening.
The RCIPS reported that shortly after 5:30 pm, Friday, 19 May, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the business just north of Mary Street in George Town. It was reported that two masked men entered the store, each brandishing a firearm, and demanded cash from the register and safe. They then fled through the rear entrance of the store with a quantity of cash. No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the incident.
Officers attended the scene and conducted inquiries and shortly afterward located a vehicle in George Town, which is suspected to have been used by the men. The vehicle has been recovered to be forensically processed.
One person who saw the men fleeing the store told CMR one of the men had on a yellow work vest. He said one of the men came out through Digicel's back door while the other through Unique's, and both took off running through the parking lot and went left along Rock Hole road.
Customers in the store at the time of the robbery were reportedly not robbed.
