(CMR) Three men who were in the process of robbing a restaurant in Prospect last Friday fled after they saw the police patrolling the area.
The RCIPS reported that just after 9:25 pm on Friday, 25 November, police officers who were on patrol in the Prospect area were stopped by a member of the public at a restaurant located in the area. The officers were informed that two masked men had approached the restaurant brandishing handguns while a third man stood at the entrance.
The men made threats to the staff of the restaurant and demanded money. However, the men then saw police patrolling the area and left the location on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
An investigation into this attempted robbery is being carried out by the police, and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
