(CMR) A 51-year-old man of West Bay, who was arrested on 1 July following a search where a bullet-proof vest was recovered, has now been formally charged with possession of a bullet-proof vest. He is expected to appear in court on Monday, 26 September.
The man was arrested during a joint operation betweenthe RCIPS and the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Drug Enforcement Team under the Firearms Act.
Police said during a search of a residence on Pleasant Drive, West Bay, officers recovered the bullet-proof vest and arrested the man on suspicion of possession of a bullet-proof vest. He was subsequently granted bail.
A gun was also recovered in the operation; another man was arrested in relation to that find.
