(CMR) Golfers from across Cayman recently hit the greens to drive in $20,000 for charity at the inaugural Logic Golf Invitational.
One hundred percent of the tournament’s proceeds were donated to Meals on Wheels, a local not-for-profit organization that provides free, hot, nutritious meals to seniors, the homebound and the disabled throughout the Cayman Islands.
“It was an incredible day. In addition to raising funds and awareness for such an important organization like Meals on Wheels, it was also a great way to raise awareness for our expanding Business Solutions platform. We look forward to many more successful events like this one,” Logic Vice-President, Commercial and Customer Care Pamela Ebanks-Small said.
More than 90 players across 23 teams registered for the event, which was held 1 April at the North Sound Golf Club.
“We are so grateful to our friends at Logic for their continued support of Meals On Wheels,” said Rob Imparato, Meals on Wheels Chairman.
“They are outstanding corporate citizens and true champions of the fight against senior hunger. Thanks also to everyone who participated and donated to MOW. I look forward to improving my golf game so I can join you next year,” he added.
Having been part of the Cayman Islands community for nearly two decades, Logic has played a leadership role in driving key community initiatives that reflect the company’s corporate, social and environmental sustainability commitments.
The company said it aims to advance the quality of life where its employees and customers work, live and do business.
“The Logic Golf invitational was a community event like no other,” Meals on Wheels General Manager Jennifer West said.
“The enthusiasm of the organizers and each player was reflected in the funds raised for Meals on Wheels! The incredible efforts helped to raise $20,000 which Meals on Wheels will utilize to provide 4,000 hot meals and 4,000 hearty soups to seniors in need,” she added.
The organizers have expressed gratitude to “all of the sponsors and those who participated in the tournament and helped make it a successful event. “
As part of Logic’s commitment to the community, the company recently launched Logic Business Solutions, offering the latest and most comprehensive range of networking and security. It also offers cloud computing and managed IT solutions to meet the needs of local businesses and provide a gateway to digital transformation.
