(CMR) Exclusive CMR sources have indicated that Keron Watler, an employee at the Department of Vehicle and Drivers' Licensing (DVDL), was arrested today in a suspected case of fraud and bribery.
Watler (27) from East End was taken in for questioning earlier in the day and was subsequently arrested.
CMR understands that the charges Watler could face are similar in nature to charges another DVDL employee faced last year.
In a release on Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Commission said they arrested a public officer; however, they did not give a name.
The Commission noted that the officer was arrested on suspicion of fraud on the Government, contrary to Section 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision); bribery of a public officer, contrary to Section 10 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision); and breach of trust contrary to Section 13 of the Anti-Corruption Law (2016 Revision).
The Commission said the individual was detained for questioning and that it would not provide any further comment on the matter.
