(CMR) The local community has been rallying around local DJ and radio personality Linbern Eden (DJ Lin) after a recent illness that required surgery yesterday.
DJ Lin took to his social media page on Wednesday morning explaining that he had been thrown a bit of a curve ball after falling ill for a few days in January. Shortly after that physicians in Cayman discovered a six inch tumor that required immediate surgery. Surgery was successfully carried out yesterday by urologist surgeon Doctor Chad Rich at the University of Miami in Florida. He remains in the hospital for the coming days to fully recover from the procedure. In his message he remained optimistic and encouraged others to be thankful for their good health:
“So this Friday the surgery takes place to remove the right Kidney, adrenal glands and possibly part of the liver. I do recognize that this will not be an easy task as the tumor is suspected to also be malignant. However understanding that life is filled with uncertainty at times I'm hoping that this message will allow someone to appreciate their own blessings. If you have good health, be thankful… if you have family, hug them and tell them that you love them… if you have had unnecessary quarrels with a friend, forgive them… if you have the ability to impact someone else's life in a positive way, do it!”
Exclusive CMR sources indicate pathology results will determine if any further treatments are required.
Lin has received hundreds of messages and calls across social media and privately from well wishers sending out their prayers and positivity for a full and speedy recovery.
Lin is a father of two young children, Jaelin and Jayzin Eden and is the son of the late Lerita and Andrew Eden. He has worked at a local DJ for over 20-years and also works full time at Radio Cayman as an announcer, on-air talent and production assistant.
