(CMR) The 25th annual Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Cleanup took place on Saturday morning around the three islands with more than 2,000 volunteers working through 140 cleanup teams. This is the largest volunteer-driven event in the Cayman Islands and is held each year in April as part of the Earth Week initiatives.

Teams were as small as two persons and in some cases included over 50 persons coming together to address Cayman's ongoing litter problem on our roads, beaches and various hidden dumping sites. The Chamber shared that litter and debris were found, bagged and placed along the roadways for collection by the Department of Environmental Health.
More than 30 sponsors funded and supported the event with custom-designed Guy Harvey t-shirts. Volunteers were able to gather at the George Town Yacht Club afterward for an excellent brunch spoked by Suntera Global.
