Hurley Media's Rooster 101.9 FM will be looking for a new co-host soon as Jevaughnie “Jevy” Ebanks departs the Crosstalk morning show this week.
Cayman Marl Road reached out to Ebanks, 21 after it was discussed in the early segment of the show yesterday morning that he was seeking further training in the Cayman 27 news department to give him more practical experience for his long term professional career goals. We understand that Ebanks hopes to pursue his formal education with a degree related to the new department.
He has been co-hosting the program since March when returning co-host Barry Quappe transitioned over to the television station where she has her own Cayman 27 variety talk show program Cayman Now.
Despite being the youngest co-host in the show's history we have seen Ebanks held his own up against some political heavy hitters leading up to the May general election. Many found that the program became more youthful with the addition of Ebanks.
This morning former veteran host Ellio Solomon could be heard joining the conversation with Ebanks and Woody DaCosta. DaCosta has hosted the program for 2 1/2 years. Our sources inform us that Solomon will be co-hosting on an interim basis until a permanent replacement co-host is found.
We understand that Ebanks will be filling in occasionally if and when the host needs him.
The co-host seat appears to have a high turnover rate with past co-hosts like Jonathan Piercy, Kenneth Bryan, Barrie Quappe and now Ebanks having departed under various circumstances – all within the past 15 months.
Dacosta took over from a long time host Austin Harris in May 2015, who hosted the program for a record 8 years.
