(CMR) A man arrested for possession of an illegal firearm on Sunday, April 25, was charged and was remanded when he appeared in court on Wednesday.
The police did not name the accused; however, CMR has learned that he is Marlon Sharpe (42) of George Town.
Sharpe has been formally charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm (ammunition), and possession of an unlicensed firearm with intent to commit an offense, namely causing fear and provocation of violence.
Reports are that officers from the Firearms Response Unit had cause to search Sharpe, who was acting suspiciously. A loaded black handgun and several rounds of ammunition were seized.
