(CMR) A man was arrested Sunday for illegal possession of a firearm, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) reported.
Reports are that shortly after 9 pm, officers of the Firearms Response Unit, on patrol in George Town, had cause to approach a man who was behaving suspiciously at an address on Anthony Drive. The officers detained the man, conducted a search of his person, and recovered a loaded black handgun and several rounds of ammunition.
The man, age 42 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and taken into custody. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
