(CMR) Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump's eldest son has tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week it is being reported. He has been in quarantine at his cabin and a spokesperson confirmed he is asymptomatic.
The 42-year-old is the latest in a long line of over four dozen people connected to the president that have tested positive including the first lady Melania Trump and his youngest son Barron.
Trump Jr. was one of some 250 guests who attend the White House's indoor election night party. Most attendees were observed not wearing masks and not socially distancing.
Other party attendees have also tested positive. Another White House nomination ceremony in late September was said to be s superspreader event after numerous persons tested positive after not wearing masks and handshaking.
On Friday Rudy Giuliani's son, Andrew Giuliani, who is a White House aide, also tested positive.
Trump Jr. has been a source of much misinformation including telling Fox News that the number of COVID-19 deaths is “almost nothing” at a time when over 228,000 Americans had already died from the virus. Twitter also restricted his account for spreading false information about hydroxychloroquine.
Trump Jr.'s girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, also tested positive for the virus over the summer. President Trump himself tested positive in early October but downplayed how serious the illness could.
The U.S. set a new daily record with over 187,833 news cases reported Friday as the virus has seen a new surge. More than 254,000 Americans have died since February of the virus. It was also reported on Friday that 1,000 U.S. hospitals are critically short on staff as hospitalizations surge.
