(CMR) The Port Authority Cayman Islands (PACI) has announced the appointment of Mr. Dale Christian to the post of Acting Port Director for the Cayman Islands Port Authority, with effect from 1st April 2022.

The Authority said Mr. Christian brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked at the Port Authority for almost three decades, with over 10 years of service as the Manager of Cayman Brac Port.

During his career, Mr. Christian has served as a former sea Captain and police officer in the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service. He has been recognized in the Heroes Day awards for both his outstanding contribution to seafaring and uniformed services. He currently sits on the Sister Islands Emergency Committee.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Cline Glidden Jr., Chairman of the PACI Board of Directors, welcomed Mr. Christian to the role.

“I appreciate the Board’s decision to offer me this temporary position and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of the Cayman Islands in this capacity,” Mr. Christian said.

The Ministry of Tourism and Transport and the PACI Board of Directors have thanked Ms. Elizabeth McField for her stewardship during her tenure as the Acting Port Director.
