(CMR) A Cayman Brac COVID-19 patient that was transported to Grand Cayman on Tuesday evening is confirmed to be on supplemental oxygen. CMR reported that they were air ambulance off after having some difficulty breathing and needed to be transported to the George Town Hospital for further treatment.
In today's figures, the Public Health Department is reporting that at 8 a.m. Tuesday, 2 November, there had been 1,115 PCR tests conducted since the last report with 115 positive tests confirmed. Four of those are travelers and the remaining 111 are community transmission.
This brings the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands to 1,299. Eight COVID-19 patients are hospitalized but none are on a ventilator.
The total number of cases recorded in the Cayman Islands since the start of the pandemic is 2,356. This includes a total of 73 positives reported in the Sister Islands.
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, 3 November, there had been 116,075 COVID-19 vaccinations given in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 56,808 (80% of 71,106) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 54,613 (77%) have completed the two-dose course. Additionally, 4,654 (representing 24% of those over the age of 50) have had a third or booster dose.
