(CMR) Armie Hammer, the American actor who drew attention internationally and locally earlier this year after messages with graphic sexual content allegedly sent by him went viral, is being investigated for sexual assault.
Hammer is the main suspect in a sexual assault reported to the Los Angeles police last month.
According to Chicago Tribune, a woman who goes by the name Effie said that on April 24, 2017, in Los Angeles, Hammer raped her for four hours, slammed her head against a wall, and committed other violent acts against her.
Effie, who lives in Europe, said she had an on-and-off romantic relationship with Hammer from 2016 to 2020.
The woman said they met on Facebook when she was 20 years old and that Hammer often tested her devotion to him by pushing her boundaries. Effie claimed Hammer became increasingly violent over time.
“He abused me mentally, emotionally, and sexually,” she said.
In a statement, Hammer's attorney refuted Effie's claims as “outrageous,” saying all Hammer's interactions with her and other partners “have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.”
Hammer's attorney, Andrew Brettler, said the woman's “own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations…As recently as July 18, 2020, she sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her. Mr. Hammer responded, making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her.”
Effie is believed to be behind the Instagram account ‘House of Effie', which in January began leaking disturbing sexual messages the actor allegedly sent to several of his exes. The messages included graphic sexual fantasies, including cannibalism and rape.
Hammer, who came to the Cayman Islands in December to spend time with his children living here with his estranged wife, is reportedly still in the country. Reports are that he was recently spotted at a restaurant with a blonde woman.
