(CMR) A George Town liquor store was robbed by a man armed with a firearm early Saturday morning. Police reports are that shortly after 1:50 am, 6 August, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Food 4 Less store on Maclendon Drive, George Town.
It was reported that a man entered the location, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash from the staff. The male then fled the location on foot with a quantity of cash. The suspect was wearing a striped shirt with jeans pants and a hat covering his face.
The man could be heard ringing the doorbell before gaining access to the store, stating, “pull the money up.” He was observed running back outside to keep a lookout. He threw a yellow bag into the store and continued telling the staff to hurry up and put everything in the bag. He also said at one point that he would shoot. At one point, he kicked a stand of goods at the front of the store.
He wore jean pants with a black cross bag across his body. He spoke with a mixed Jamaican-Caymanian accent.
No one was injured during the incident.
