(CMR) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 warning for the Cayman Islands, warning citizens to avoid traveling here. This recent warning comes weeks after a Level 3 travel advisory was issued for the Cayman Islands.
The CDC said if persons must travel to the Cayman Islands, they must make sure they are fully vaccinated before travel.
According to the CDC website, because of the current situation in the Cayman Islands, even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants. Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in the Cayman Islands, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others.
Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers might be at increased risk for contracting and possibly spreading some COVID-19 variants, the CDC stated.
The CDC urged persons not to travel internationally until they are fully vaccinated.
