(CMR) A man was stabbed in the chest and back during an altercation with two others outside McRuss convenience store on Party Lane in George Town on Sunday evening, 14 January, the RCIPS has confirmed.
Reports from the police are that at about 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a wounding outside the store in George Town. It was reported that three men were involved in an altercation, and one of the men had been stabbed in the chest and back. The victim then fled inside the store, where security officers locked the door behind him.
Officers attended the location and arrested one man, age 43 of George Town, who was found in the vicinity, on suspicion of wounding. He remains in custody as investigations continue. The third man left the location prior to the arrival of the police.
The victim was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for his wounds, which appear to be non-life-threatening.
